Belts loose as Hell!!Help!!

Hey guys, my belts are loose as hell and I'm not too sure on the retightening procedure. When I did a full throttle run tonight, my boost guage read instantly to 6psi until 6000rpm, and then it dropped to 3psi. THe feeling sucks, the car pulls great until 6000 rpm and then it just falls flat(well compared to the first 6000rpm) that is.

I searched the archives and came up with this procedure(ala JRCIVIC)

Loosen the two 6pt. 12mm bolts on either side of the idler bracket. These two bolts are located directly above the blower idler pulley just left of the blower pulley. Then loosen the jam nut (10mm) and adjustment screw, which is found on the belt side of the bracket just 3" left of the two bolts above. Now, spin the jam nut up to the head of the adjustment screw. Begin tightening the adjustment screw until proper tension is reached (about 3/8" deflection on the back-side of the belt next to the master cylinder). Now tighten the jam nut. Re-tighten the two 12mm bolts and you are done.

The thing is, when I went looking for the bolts I wasn't really sure which ones they were. I never realized how tight space is down near the upper idler pulley. Though when I pushed the belt, it seemed rather tight. Does anyone have any pics they could post and show me which bolts are referred to in JRCivics instructions? Thanks for the help guys.

This shows the idler pulley/bracket. That long bolt is the adjustment bolt. Before you do the adjustment, you want to loosen the bolt that is just to the right and below the adjustment bolt (the bolthead is facing the driver side) 2nd bolt you need to loosen is just to the right of that one (this bolthead is facing the passenger side)

But if you say the belt feels tight, then it might be the belt from the crank to the alternator.

hmm..mine does that on occasion...but it does it when my JR pos FPR starts to get hot and die....it does a fuel dump around there for me....same symptoms as yours tho...my belts are tight. The FPR then starts leaking fuel

That's kinda weird though, i don't understand why I would lose boost is there wasn't enough fuel. If the fpr was leaking I would expect it to really lean, but as far as I know, my fpr is fine, hasn't leaked since my first faulty one at the time of install, but that was fixed more than 2 years ago. If my lower belts are the ones that are loose, how would I tighten those? Jim? THanks.
